“I stood there in silence, not because I had no words, but because none felt big enough. There’s something that happens when you realise how small you are, not in a way that belittles you, but in a way that frees you. That moment on the shore, with clouds rising like cotton candy and a silver beam of light breaking through, I felt myself dissolve into the scene.

That silver beam? I laid it leaf by delicate leaf, onto the linen canvas. Not just to paint light, but to honour it. To let it catch and shift and shimmer, the way awe does when it moves through the body.

This painting is a quiet remembering. That even when I feel lost or not enough, I am part of something vaster, and so are you! The ocean doesn’t ask permission to exist. The sky doesn’t apologise for being soft. And here I am, learning to stand still inside that same permission.”
